Customer Rating: Summary: A LIFESAVER!!! LOVE this cover!!! Comment: I LOVE this cover! It is definitely worth the price. Very high quality fabric that is heavy and big enough to keep squirming baby covered, yet light enough to not make us both hot. An awesome, unique shower gift, also.
Customer Rating: Summary: Bebe au Lait nursing cover - Parkside Comment: I purchased this product for my daughter and her new baby. It is a lovely pattern but more importantly it give her total coverage --- much better then a receiving blanket. She can also see baby at all times because of the "hoop" style at the neck. It washes beautifully and folds easily into pocket size. Thank you for this product; it is well worth the price.
Customer Rating: Summary: so handy Comment: wow, so wish i had this for my first baby.
you can breast feed anywhere without worry of your cover falling or blowing away in the wind. This is a must have.
Customer Rating: Summary: A must-have for nursing moms Comment: This nursing cover has several really great features that make it worth the price. The ribbing at the top that allows you to peek down and see your baby is great -- the few times I've tried nursing with just a blanket over the baby, I have had a much harder time trying to get him started and if he pops off the boob, it is a struggle to get him back on. Nursing is hard enough without having to do it blind. The fabric is beautiful and light enough that baby and I aren't sweltering under it, and I have used it as a makeshift blanket or sun shade to cover him and it has worked very well. There are two terrycloth pockets on the inside bottom corners, and these have come in handy for wiping milk or drool off of baby and myself. (I haven't really found a need to put anything in the pockets, as I would probably just drop whatever it is anyway.)
This would be an amazing gift for a new mom who might not have considered that she would need one, or might not spend the little extra to get one with these extras.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great for nursing in public, until baby is 4 months old! Comment: I bought this specifically for an airplane trip when my son was 10 weeks old. That weekend we nursed just about everywhere (airplane, restaurants, hotel lobbies, etc.) and the cover was really great!
You *do* need something to go over your neck, instead of just using a blanket, in order to keep it in place. The wire at the top is helpful to be able to see your baby, but I always felt like everyone else could also see him (and me). I felt exposed and tried to close it or fold it in after getting him latched.
That's the most public nursing that I did; I tried to use it a couple of other times but when he reached about 4 months he started grabbing onto the cover to wave it in the air or just get it off of his face. I wasn't able to keep us discreet enough in public venues. So I started nursing only at home and arranged our schedule around his mealtimes. Or I pumped and give him a bottle in public. And now he's started to wean and we're only nursing at the morning and at night, so it's less necessary. Definitely get this or something like it to survive breastfeeding during the early months if you want to have flexibility to leave your house!
