The Story of Tushies.
Most other disposable diapers add artificial chemical absorbents such as acrylic acid polymer salts to their all wood pulp padding in order to increase absorbency. This powder, which is inside the absorbent padding of the diaper, turns into gel when it comes in contact with moisture. The gel can end up on your baby. While absorbents are not known to cause harm, why use an artificial when you can use a Gel-Free natural blend cotton absorbent? New Cloth-Like Cover increases softness for your baby.

Summary: Not my favorite natural diaper.
Comment: These are not my favorite. I found that they kept my daughter too wet and she started to show signs of irritation! They are also very bulky, like your diapering your tiny baby with a book.

Comment: This was the first Chlorine/Gell Free Diaper I have ever tried. I was not happy with them. They are so thick my daughter could barely close her legs. I thought maybe since they were so thick it would help hold things in her diaper but it didn't. I do like their wipes though =)

Comment: I decided to try these diapers with baby #3 instead of Pampers. They are great! I am very pleased with the fit on my baby and have had no leakage problems. The "safe factor" gives me much peace of mind. I plan to continue to use these.

Comment: Hi. I purchased a case of Tushies gel-free diapers because they seemed like a good environmental disposable option. Unfortunatly, they leak really bad. I didn't experience it with urnie, just poop. One time they leaked so bad my son was in his jumperoo and he had poop running down his leg. It also got on the carpet. Yuck.

Summary: A Great Alternative
Comment: I normally use cloth diapers, but for travelling and convenience I wanted to use a gel-free diaper, and these work great. My newborn has so far not had one leaky diaper (even with that typical newborn messiness). I love these diapers and will continue to use them. Make sure to understand -- these are the ONLY diaper that does not use the gel (the others are just chlorine-free). You cannot use these as long as conventional gel diapers, but you shouldn't anyway -- not good for baby to sit in it for long, anyway!
